Special to The Sun
Members of the 1964 class of Edmond High School will celebrate their 50th reunion the weekend of April 25-26 with a “Solid Gold” event in Edmond.
The main event will be from 7-11 p.m. April 26 at the River Oaks Golf Club, 10909 Clubhouse Road, on the north side of Hefner Road, east of Sooner Road. The Old Bulldog Band will play solid gold hits from the ’60s and a golden anniversary class photo will be taken at 7:30 p.m.
Several meet-and-greet activities are planned for April 25 starting at 5 p.m. at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, 301 Melanie Drive, off Second Avenue near I-35 in Edmond. Class members are urged to Bring Your Own Memorabilia to the Friday event. It is hoped that classmates will find old photos, year books, posters, class rings, band and letter jackets and other items, even remembered stories, that will help stimulate laughs.
From 6:30-8 p.m. April 25 there will be a self-pay dinner at Pepe’s Restaurant, 1702 S. Broadway in Edmond and then everyone will return to the Fairfield Inn for an 8:30 p.m. memorial service for classmates who have passed away.
Cost of the reunion is $45 per person and class members are urged to send their payments in before the event. Dress for both events is casual. Classmates from other years are invited but urged to reserve a space in advance.
Details about the reunion as well as payment form and instructions can be found at the reunion website: http://www.ehs64reunion.com.
