EDMOND — Erin McCracken, a native Oklahoman, has been living her Broadway dream for the past eight years. After graduating from Oklahoma City University with a degree in musical theatre, where she studied under the legendary Florence Birdwell, McCracken moved to New York to pursue her career on stage.

She will bring her talents back to her home church Oct. 19 for A Night on the Town concert event at New Covenant Christian Church. She will bring different music genres to the stage for an entertaining evening. She also will release her new CD for the first time at the event and copies will be for sale following the concert.

There will be a catered dinner at 6:30 p.m. with the concert following at 7:45 p.m. Throughout the evening there also will be a live silent auction featuring new items and services donated by the congregational members of the church. Final bids will be taken until 8:45 p.m. Dinner tickets are $65 per person and includes preferred seating at the concert. Concert only tickets are $30 per person. All proceeds to benefit the ongoing ministries of New Covenant Christian Church.

While in Oklahoma she had the opportunity to perform with Broadway favorites Kristin Chenoweth and Kelli O’Hara in the Starry Night Concert as well as the centennial production of “Oklahoma!” with Lyric Theatre starring O’Hara and Will Chase.

McCracken’s New York credits include: “Nunsense” with the John W. Engeman Theatre and “Hairspray” (playing her dream role of Tracy Turnblad) with the Westchester Broadway Theatre. She also had the opportunity to perform in a new musical, “Pick Love,” in the Rochester Fringe Festival and often performs in cabarets and charity concerts around New York City.

Tickets for the Oklahoma City event went on sale Sept. 1 and can be purchased by calling 659-9945.

New Covenant Christian Church is a Disciples of Christ congregation at 12000 N. Rockwell Ave., Oklahoma City.
