EDMOND — Russell Dougherty fifth-grade teacher April Robichaux stands with her student Emily Garrison in front of Emily's winning photo in the statewide contest from the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board.
OERB's "Where in the World is Petro Pete?" contest called for students in kindergarten through sixth-grade to take a picture of themselves with OERB's mascot, Petro Pete, and various items made from petroleum by-products.
Emily's photo shows here with a mobile phone, plastic dolls, rubber flip-flops, nail polish and more.
Emily said she entered the contest, "Just for fun, but maybe to win." She received a $50 Target gift card, signed Petro Pete books and a party for her class.
