Made in Oklahoma Coalition announces recipe contest

Special to The Sun

OKLA. CITY — As recipes are passed-down through generations and shared with friends, they evolve as each person adds their own unique twist. Made in Oklahoma  Coalition encourages Oklahomans to submit their Oklahoma recipe creations by May 31 for a chance to win up to $1,000.

“We are excited to see the delicious and innovative dishes that participants will bring to the table from all corners of our state,” said Kerry Barrick, MIO Coalition coordinator. “Our coalition member companies are looking forward to seeing how Oklahomans use their products to create both old favorites and new recipes.”

Judging is based on creativity, taste, ease of preparation and the recipe must use at least two eligible MIO Coalition products. Recipes must be original, unpublished and cannot have received any previous awards or prizes. Participants can enter their recipes into one of many categories, including blue ribbon dinners, party time appetizers, delectable desserts and small bites-kids’ cooking.

A winner from each category will receive a $500 award. From the category winners, a grand-prize winner will be chosen to win an additional $500. Winners will be announced in June.
