Kapuscik’s colorful yard brings home honor

EDMOND — The “Yard of the Week” award goes to Donna Kapuscik, 3101 Cumberland Drive in the Fairfax addition. She credits her former landscaper, Helen Weis with Be Unique Inc., for the design and landscaping of the yard.

The magnificent beds of assorted caladiums, purple hearts, assorted hostas, red and pink impatiens, ajuga, sedums, coleus, moneywort and angelina make an attractive walk to the front door.

Curving flower beds of red and pink begonias, Christmas and Boston ferns, red salvia, dusty miller, blue daze, homestead verbena, cannas, assorted hydrangeas, purple clematis, lantanas and pink oleander provide a profusion of colors and textures to this elegant yard. Her artistically designed yard also contains Japanese red maple, dwarf Alberta spruces, hopsi spruces, magnolia and oak trees. This is one of the most effective use of assorted caladiums in any landscape in Edmond.

“Yard of the Week” is co-sponsored by Edmond Beautiful Inc., The Edmond Sun, Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce and The Home Depot. The winner receives a six-month subscription to The Sun and a $50 store credit from The Home Depot. To nominate a yard, call 341-2808.
