Citizen: Trust lands, money should go back to owners

American taxpayers cannot afford to pay for more government agencies to be created, especially when the programs already in place are not working. The government does not provide adequate health care for our veterans and troops today. So the government should not offer health care for everyone.

Town hall meeting misinformation must stop

Let Texas pay: Oklahoma’s water provides opportunity
After reading the article, “City Looks at Water Options,” it is clear Oklahoma must address the lack of water infrastructure if we stand any chance to make sure Edmond can meet its water needs for the balance of this century. Oklahoma has plenty of water — more than 10 times the amount we use, with the rest just flowing downstream into Arkansas and Texas.

I wanted to be sure you were aware that a recent letter to the editor (“Ignoring the Risks Harms Society,” Letters, The Edmond Sun, May 21, 2009) was possibly not an original letter, and is in fact part of a letter writing campaign that just may be against your publication’s editorial policy.

Vegan letter misleading
Last week’s letter to the editor promoting a vegan diet and blaming animal agriculture for the H1N1 influenza virus, multiple human health issues and environmental problems was misleading and filled with falsehoods.

After Prom cancellation irksome
When I first learned about the fundraising efforts of Edmond high schools, I was so impressed with the students’, parents’ and community’s generosity and commitment to helping others. But when I read about the cancellation of the Edmond high school After Prom event due to lack of funding and student/parent involvement, it really irked me.
