Ronald Reagan once said “Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong.” Our survival, as well as the survival of our great nation, depends on the strength of our national defense via our military. While I know other issues are important, they all become moot without our ability to adequately defend our national shores and borders from our enemies. I believe our best defense is a strong military.
Sen. Jim Inhofe certainly understands this, and has worked diligently throughout his U.S. Senate career in support of our military men and women. He has consistently voted to fund our troops at war, and is a vocal critic of utilization of political debates on these military funding issues. His efforts on behalf of our nation’s veterans are well known, including his recent co-sponsorship to expand the GI Bill to allow transferable benefits for military families.
Oklahomans also have definitely benefited in many areas from Sen. Inhofe’s leadership as a senior member of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee. We have not lost a single major military installation throughout the last five BRAC rounds.
Military funding is crucial, especially in technological developments for improving the defense of our nation. Inhofe is leading the way in support of the Army’s Future Combat System, and has brought a component assembly of that system to Oklahoma.
It is critically important to me, my children, and my grandchildren, to have Inhofe continue his efforts on our behalf in Washington. I encourage everyone to vote for Sen. Jim Inhofe. He definitely has my vote.
