Support Fight Back Express today
To the Editor:
I am fortunate enough to be among those who have survived cancer in Oklahoma. My cancer was caught early enough to spare my life.
In this year alone, more than 17,500 people in Oklahoma will hear those dreaded words “you have cancer” and more than 7,000 Oklahoma’s will die of the disease. It is my hope that the people of Oklahoma find these numbers unacceptable. It is time that Oklahoma and the nation recommit to the war on cancer.
The Fight Back Express nationwide bus tour is coming to Oklahoma at 1:30 p.m. today at the Oklahoma State Capitol. I hope you and your readers will be there to welcome it. The Fight Back Express is a project of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and has been on the road since May. Cancer needs to be a higher priority on the nation’s agenda and the bus tour is intended to build a grassroots movement and unite Americans to help defeat cancer.
Come show your support and sign the bus when it arrives in Oklahoma on today.
Too many of us suffer and die from cancer. It is time to fight back. If one person can battle this disease, a nation can defeat it.
