Colorado couple thanks local firefighters

EDMOND — Colorado couple thanks local firefighters

To the Editor:

On Dec. 23, my lovely bride — Jane Ann — and I were on the home stretch, a mere 30 minutes from reaching her parents’ home in Bethany for our annual Christmas visit, when our car began to swerve and shake. We immediately turned off at the Covell Road exit from I-35 and limped eastward, pulling into the Edmond Fire Station.

I had barely gotten out to inspect the brand-new tire that had shredded, when a team of firefighters came out to offer assistance. Within minutes, they changed the tire and put us back on the road.

Their courtesy and diligence set them apart as first-class public servants. We were then, and are now, humbly grateful.
