Student needs Oklahoma mementos
Hello, my name is Alli Griffith. I am a seventh-grade student at Covenant Christian School. In Literature, we are reading “A Walk Across America” by Peter Jenkins. For a project, each student must choose a state to do a report on. I have chosen Oklahoma.

LETTER: Assault weapons not needed
To the Editor:
The shock and sorrow regarding the Newtown, Conn., school shootings permeates this household, as it does our nation. We are retired educators who deeply relate to the fallen staff, their students and their students’ families. -
LETTER: 13-year-old gives to others
To the Editor:
It is that time of year again. Time for Christmas hype and commercialism and children asking for everything under the sun. It’s also that time of year where, I hope, people think of others and dig a little deeper to spread some Christmas cheer. -
LETTER: All may not be as it seems
To the Editor:
Predictions of the end of the world or the end of civilization as we know it. I’m not talking about the ones made by an obscure Mayan calendar, but the types of catastrophes expected as a result of the re-election of President Obama. These predictions, many by people and news media in Oklahoma, were perceived as truth by the majority of Oklahomans. These beliefs seem to be supported by the recent election results. Oklahomans voted against President Obama by a 2-to-1 margin; and I suspect that in Edmond an even larger margin against his re-election. - Democracy works best with informed voters

LETTER: Democracy works best with informed voters
To the Editor:
I’m writing in response to an opinion piece written by Rep. Jason Murphey titled “Why did your property tax go up?” (Dec. 4, 2012, The Edmond Sun) -
LETTER: Chamber urges yes vote on SQ 766
To the Editor:
The mission of the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce is to enhance economic opportunity and quality of life in Edmond. A central component of our ability to achieve this mission is a positive business climate, one that promotes expansion and entrepreneurship. -
LETTER: More facts needed about SQ 766
To the Editor:
Oklahomans should demand the truth from the coalition supporting S.Q. 766. Unfortunately, this coalition has decided to attack Oklahoma judges rather than address the devastating cuts S.Q. 766 imposes on public schools, career technology centers and county government. -
LETTER: Businesses should say no to 'open carry'
To the Editor:
In just a few days, it will be Nov. 1 and one thing that means here in Oklahoma is that people with conceal carry permits for handguns will be able to openly carry them most anywhere in the state. -
LETTER: AAA Oklahoma urges parents to think about teen driver safety
To the Editor:
Parents are the key to teen driver safety. It just makes sense — the more involved parents are in their teens’ driving life, the safer teens will be on the road. - More Letters to the Editor Headlines
