Photo Provided State Rep. Randy McDaniel sponsored retired Naval Captain Gean Atkinson as veteran of the week for the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Atkinson is a highly decorated Navy veteran with a military record of 28 years including service in the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. ?apt. Gean Atkinson served our state and nation with honor,?said McDaniel, R-Edmond. ?t is my hope that the state of Oklahoma will always find a way to recognize our troops and thank them for their sacrifices.?McDaniel said the ?eteran of the Week?program is just a small way for the state to honor those who have served our nation with distinction. This week also was Veterans Appreciation Week at the Capitol.
