The Edmond Historical Society & Museum invites the public to attend the 11th Annual Edmond Authors Reception at 1 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Edmond Historical Society, 431 S. Boulevard. This year’s authors’ reception is in memory of Vieva Yoesting, longtime Edmond Historical Society board member and library chairwoman. Yoesting enjoyed celebrating Edmond’s talented authors and providing them a spotlight during the annual authors’ reception.
The event is free and will feature Edmond author Patricia Loughlin, assistant professor of history at the University of Central Oklahoma. Loughlin recently co-authored with Kenny Brown and Bob Burke the coffee table book, “Building Traditions, Educating Generations: A History of the University of Central Oklahoma.”
A number of local authors will have books available for purchase and for signing. Local publishing companies also have been invited to attend the reception.
