The Edmond Economic Development Authority will host Deidre Myers, director of research and economic analysis for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, as featured speaker for the 2009 Edmond Economic Preview CD Launch and Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 29 in the Nigh University Center at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Myers will kick off the event with a State of the Economy address, providing economic data on population, wages, home values and education, among other things.
Following Myer’s presentation, Janet Yowell, EEDA executive director, will provide insight into Edmond’s economy and an overview of the information available on the 2009 Economic Preview CD.
The CD provides economic and real estate reports for Edmond and the surrounding area, highlighting forecasts and trends in the Oklahoma and Edmond economies and real estate markets.
The EEDA will give a demographic overview of the City of Edmond, including the latest figures in Edmond’s population, income levels and educational attainment based on 2000 Census data and 2008 estimates and projections.
The event, sponsored by First Fidelity Bank, features an expert panel providing insight into city issues, education and retail, office, residential and multi-family real estate markets.

Pre-registration cost is $35 and at the door cost is $45 for this informative luncheon. Pre-registration ends Jan. 26. Tables of eight are available for $270 until Jan. 23. Costs include the 2009 Economic Preview CD, which contains a special video and all presentations and reports collected from each expert. Hard copies of the CD are $25.
Registration and lunch will begin at 11 a.m. followed by the program at 11:30 a.m.
