Thursday OKC Town Hall features Bruce Feiler

Children First program celebrates 10-year anniversary
The Children First program at the Logan County Health Department is celebrating its 10th anniversary from 2-4 p.m. Feb. 29. All current and past C-1 clients are invited to the party that will be in Fairgrounds Education Building.
Children First, or C-1, is a community-based support program throughout Oklahoma that offers home visitation services to families during pregnancy and until the child’s second birthday. In order to qualify for C-1, an applicant must meet program income requirements.
Once the mother has enrolled in the program, she can expect visits from a C-1 nurse. An individualized schedule is worked out between nurse and mother.
Along the way, the mother and child receive a wide array of support and resources, including child and maternal health assessments, health/safety/nutrition education, and parenting education. For more information about the Children First anniversary celebration, or for information about the program itself, call the Logan County Health Department at 282-3485.
