EDMOND Vandal damages green, bunker at Oak Tree

A green and several bunkers within a newly renovated area at Oak Tree Country Club were damaged by a car-driving vandal over the weekend, police said.

Sunday morning, police were dispatched to Oak Tree in reference to vandalism at the golf course, according to a police report. An employee told police someone drove a vehicle across a golf course green and through two bunkers, damaging both, police said. In one of the bunkers the employee found some Land Rover parts, which police collected as evidence.

Bret Proctor, Oak Tree Country Club superintendent, said the damaged area had just been renovated, finished about two weeks ago. Work included reshaping the green, moving bunkers and adding another bunker, part of an effort to increase the size of the practice area. Damage is estimated at $1,000-$2,000, Proctor said.

Anyone with information about this incident may call Edmond Crimestoppers at 359-4466. Callers may remain anonymous.

Officials seek suspect in home invasion robbery

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and Logan County officials are searching for a suspect in a home invasion robbery.

Jamar Draper, 22, is identified as one of three masked men who broke into a house in the 400 block of N. Meridian in Langston during the early morning hours on Friday, according to an OSBI news release.

Four residents, all Langston University students, were beaten, police said. The suspects held the victims at gunpoint for several hours while ransacking the home, searching for money.

One of the suspects accidentally shot another suspect in the “bottom,” police said. Doug Hendrix, 21, is in a local hospital being held on unrelated warrants out of Oklahoma County. A third suspect has not yet been identified.

Draper was last seen driving a gray or silver, 4-door Oldsmobile Alero GL V6 with an Oklahoma tag 779-AVG. Draper is described as a black male, 5’8” tall, weighing about 145 pounds. He is from the Oklahoma County-Logan County area, and is to be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

If anyone sees Draper, they are urged to call the OSBI hotline at 1-800-522-8017 or the Logan County Sheriff’s Office at 282-4100.

Edmond Police log 2 social host arrests

Two Edmond men were arrested on complaints of public intoxication and for violating the city’s social host law, police said.

At about 2 a.m. Sunday morning, police were dispatched to the 400 block of Sundance Ln. in reference to a loud disturbance, according to a police report. At the scene, police observed Brian Austin Hail, 22, of Edmond, and Austin Lynn Cochran, 19, of Edmond, standing in public view holding beer bottles.

Hail told police he lived at the residence where he was the subject of a “housewarming” party. Hail was uncooperative, but arrested. During the arrest, Cochran attempted to hide in a corner of the garage.

Hail faces complaints of public intoxication, social host violation and resisting an officer. Cochran faces complaints of public intoxication and minor in possession of low point beer. Both were transported to the city jail.

Not every incident leads to a charge under the law. If charges are filed, innocence or guilt is determined by a court of law.
