Last weekend, money was reported stolen from a garage sale.
The victim told Edmond Police that she had just counted the money, which totaled $311 and change, when a pregnant Hispanic woman and a white man arrived at her garage sale, according to a police report.
The pregnant woman distracted the other woman by asking questions about some of the sale items outside of the garage, luring her out of the garage, the report stated.
The woman left the money inside the garage to answer the other woman’s questions, while the man still was in the garage, according to the report.
After the couple left, the woman holding the garage sale noticed she was missing $211 from her till, the report stated. According to police, she believes the man stole the money.
Police officers went to other garage sales in the neighborhood, and it was reported that the couple was seen at the other sales, but there was no report of suspicious activity, the report stated.
