Guthrie citizens plan for bike ride

A group of Guthrie bicycle enthusiasts and concerned citizens have come together to plan a fundraising bike ride on May 16, with proceeds going toward the building of the new water treatment plant.

The Guthrie Clear Water Ride begins at 8 a.m., leaving downtown Guthrie for distances of 18, 32, 55 and 65 miles. The ride will take participants on a scenic journey through the beautiful countryside of Logan County, including the towns of Guthrie, Crescent, Marshall and Mulhall.

In addition to the distances mentioned above, a family bike ride (at no charge) will be offered as well. This is an opportunity for families to participate in a fun, relaxing ride through downtown Guthrie (about half a mile). The children won’t want to miss the special prizes at the end. Public meeting on homelessness grant set

The federal Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness grant will be available for public comment from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Conference Room C, 1200 N.E. 13th St. in Oklahoma City.

Written and oral comments will be accepted at the public hearing.
