Animal shelter
schedule changed
The regularly scheduled Saturday Adoption Day at the Edmond Animal Shelter has been canceled this month.
The shelter is scheduling the second Saturday of each month to be open for adoptions only, said Jim Fish, supervisor of animal welfare. The volunteer group, Paws for Life, assists on these Saturdays. The normal adoption fee is $70. On Saturdays the fee is $40 for dogs and $35 for cats.
Fish said summertime is one of the best times to adopt a pet because children are home from school and everyone has time to care for a new animal. Fish said don’t forget to put a tag and collar on your pet because the shelter gets a lot of animals without proper identification.
If you have lost an animal, call the shelter 216-7615.
