Have you ever wondered what you can do with the old cell phones you no longer use?
The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office is on a mission to collect 1,000 cell phones through the month of July for the 911 Cell Phone Bank. The department is making a plea to Oklahoma County residents and businesses to donate any used or new cell phones that they no longer need. The donated phones will be processed and issued free of charge to Oklahoma County elderly for 911 emergencies.
Donations will be taken beginning at 11:30 a.m. today at the Quail Springs Mall Sheriff’s Sub-station, 2501 W. Memorial Road. For more information about the 911 Cell Phone Bank, log on to www.911cellphonebank.org.
The department will accept cell phones at the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, 201 N. Shartel; Crossroads Mall Sheriff’s Sub-station, 7000 Crossroads Blvd.; and the Sheriff’s Field Operations Center, Southeast 29th and Midwest Boulevard.
