EDMOND —
A 20-year-old Oklahoma City man faces first-degree rape complaints after being arrested in a case involving the alleged rape of a 12-year-old Edmond girl, police said.
Alfred Sezer III, 20, of Oklahoma City, was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on Saturday after he was arrested on three first-degree rape complaints. Bond was set at $75,000.
The three complaints represent the three sexual encounters the suspect had with the victim, said Glynda Chu, spokeswoman for the Edmond Police Department.
Early Saturday morning, an Edmond Police officer was patrolling Hafer Park at 900 S. Bryant Avenue, according to a police report.
The officer observed a car without a license plate parked near the duck pond. All the windows were fogged up, making it hard to see if anyone was in the car, police said. Using a flashlight, the officer could see two individuals in the back seat.
As he approached the car, the officer could see that the occupants were putting on clothing. Police said it took a “long time” before the occupants answered his knocking on the window.
After the officer identified himself, the male on the driver’s side opened his door, and the officer had him get out of the car. The officer asked the female her age, and she said she was 13. The officer later discovered the victim was 12.
The officer asked the suspect what he was doing in the park and he replied, “Something I shouldn’t be.”
Chu said the incident involved a 12-year-old girl who already has lost the innocence of childhood.
“And her life is forever changed,” Chu said.
