The LibertyFest Fourth of July celebration finished Friday another successful year. All 11 events proved to be a turnout to remember.
Taste of Edmond, which was rained out last year, had an attendance of about 5,000 on June 29, organizers said Monday. At closing restaurants still were serving food.
“The event was met with all the excitement that we hoped it would be,” said Leah Kessler, Taste of Edmond co-chairwoman and LibertyFest president.
Kessler said Taste of Edmond organizers were pleased with the new location at the Festival Market Place.
More than 50,000 Edmondites and visitors lined the streets for Friday’s parade of 107 floats, which were dedicated to “saluting America’s heroes.”
