EDMOND Police said an Edmond man was arrested on multiple complaints after doing $5,000 worth of damage to a home with a pickup and then leaving the scene.

On Tuesday Edmond Police were dispatched to the 100 block of East Third Street in reference to a hit-and-run accident involving a white pickup hitting a house, according to a police report. A caller reported that a white pickup had run into the front of his house and then left the scene.

At the scene, police saw tire tracks in the front yard that veered sharply off the road from a vehicle that was traveling east on Third Street from Littler. Police said there was structural damage to the wall just east of the front door.

Police said a witness heard a loud noise and got up to see a white pickup traveling eastbound down Third Street. Police stopped the white Ford pickup in the 400 block of East Third Street. The vehicle had damage consistent with hitting the house. The total damage to the house was put at $5,000, police said.

The truck was being driven by Steven Grant Low, 18, who police said appeared to have been drinking alcohol. Low told police the truck belonged to his roommate, according to the report.

Police said they asked and received permission to search the pickup and police found a package of “zig zag” rolling papers and a pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana.

Low was arrested on complaints of careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under suspension and no insurance. He was placed in a cell pending posting a $488 bond.
