Edmond man wins $400,000

Robert Roesler of Edmond never misses a Powerball draw and his persistence paid off with a win of $400,000. Now he plans to take his winnings and hit the road in a new car.

A longtime lottery player, Roesler doesn’t have a favorite location to buy from and he just happened to buy his winning ticket at the Memorial City Mart at 13636 N. Bryant in Oklahoma City. The Memorial City Mart will receive $5,000 for selling the winning ticket through the Oklahoma Lottery’s retailer bonus program.

“I was in shock when I looked at the numbers in the Sunday paper so I looked online, too,” said Roesler. He got his numbers through Easy Pick.

Net proceeds of all lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $215 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.

Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important education purposes, including teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
