OKLA. CITY — Police investigate theft at Faith Bible Church

Police are investigating the theft of $7,600 worth of items including a flatscreen television and musical equipment from an Edmond church.

Monday morning police were dispatched to Faith Bible Church, 600 N. Coltrane Road, in reference to a burglary, according to report filed by Edmond Police Officer Tim Owen.

Police said the items were taken from two rooms in a youth area at the church. The break-in was discovered by a worker who found an outside window screen had been removed and mud on the side of the frame. There appeared to be gloved hand prints on the outside of the window, but it was not known if the prints belonged to the suspect or someone who closed the window, police said.

Items reported missing include a $1,000 42-inch Panasonic flat screen TV, a $1,000 electric drum set, a $1,000 sound board, speakers and amplifiers valued at $1,400 and a $1,500 projector.

Police log social host arrest

A 22-year-old Edmond woman was arrested for violating the city’s social host ordinance, police said.

Early Tuesday morning, shortly after midnight, police were dispatched to 200 W. 15th St. in reference to a loud noise disturbance, according to a report filed by Edmond Police Officer Caleb Gottschalk.

Police said the loud music could be heard from some distance as they approached the apartment in question. Inside, police saw what appeared to be a teenage male playing a drinking game on the kitchen counter.

A female, later identified as Michelle Nicole Brower, 22, answered the door and identified herself as the resident. Police said there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the apartment, and they could see some empty beer bottles along with another male who did not appear to be 21, the legal drinking age.

Police said all of the individuals in the apartment were under age 21 except Brower, and several told police they had been drinking there. Only a trace amount of marijuana was found, police said.

Brower was arrested for violating the social host ordinance, which prohibits permitting or allowing a gathering at which minors consume alcohol. Social host violations carry a $544 fine.
