EDMOND — Edmond School Board incumbent Kemp Cole and his opponent, Susan Huffer, will face off at a candidate forum this week at Edmond North High School.
The two are vying for the District 5 seat.
Sponsored by North’s Parent Teacher Organization, the event begins at 6 p.m. Thursday at the school’s Freshman Academy, 215 W. Danforth.
Cole was first elected to the board in 2005, is currently serving as president of the board and has a son attending Edmond North High School. He is the agency director and senior vice president of Reserve National Insurance Co.
A real estate agent, Huffer has lived in Edmond for 17 years and has a daughter who attends Sequoyah Middle School.
The District 5 seat is the largest of the Edmond Public Schools election districts. An irregularly shaped district, it lies roughly between Santa Fe Avenue and Anderson Road, and Danforth Road and Waterloo Road extending as far north as Liberty Lake Road in some areas.
