Special to The Sun
OKLA. CITY —
Oklahomans are invited to enjoy live music, food and fun at the SandRidge Tree Lighting Festival from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the corner of Mickey Mantle Drive and Flaming Lips Alley in downtown Oklahoma City. The event is free and open to the public.
“SandRidge Energy is proud to sponsor the Tree Lighting Festival for the fourth year in a row in downtown Oklahoma City,” said Greg Dewey, vice president of communications and community relations for SandRidge. “It’s a fun opportunity for Oklahomans of all ages to come together and kick off the Christmas season.”
Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett will light the Christmas tree for the season. Santa will be at the festival to take free professional photos with children, which will be printed on site immediately. Local band Banana Seat will provide live music for the evening as guests snack on popcorn from Harkins Bricktown Cinemas 16, cookies from Nonna’s Euro-American Ristorante and sip hot cocoa. Children also can enjoy face painting.
The SandRidge Christmas Tree serves as the centerpiece for Downtown in December and will be on display until Jan. 1.
