EDMOND —
An Edmond high school student was cited for a number of offenses including possessing a knife on school grounds, an incident report stated.
At about 3 p.m. on Nov. 12 the Edmond Police Department received information that a student was in possession of a marijuana smoking pipe inside his car parked in the east lot of Edmond North High School, according to an incident report filed by EPD School Resource Officer Sean Bryant.
EPD Officer Dack Pearson arrived on the scene and had his K-9 partner Justice conduct a free air search around the vehicle, the report stated. Pearson received a positive alert for narcotics from Justice, according to the report.
The vehicle’s owner was informed and escorted from his class to the scene, the report stated. He gave the keys to Pearson who searched the vehicle, according to the report.
In the front driver’s side door panel the officer located a small white plastic first aid kit, and inside was a wooden pipe with burnt marijuana residue, a pack of Camel cigarettes, a lighter and a switchblade knife, the report stated.
At about 3:30 p.m., Pearson arrested the student on complaints of possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a harmful weapon and a youth tobacco prevention violation, the report stated. Age and grade information was redacted.
The vehicle was left in the parking lot and the student was transported to the Edmond Police station for booking, according to the report. At the station, a guardian signed the juvenile citations for possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a harmful weapon, according to the report. The student signed the citation for youth tobacco prevention violation and was released to the guardian.

The Edmond City Council agreed Monday to a 6 percent budget increase for the next five fiscal years. The council met in a special budget workshop Monday morning. Fiscal Year 2014 begins July 1.
