Authorities said they are still searching for a suspect wanted in the alleged robbery- and drug-related death of a 19-year-old Edmond man.
On Thursday, the Oklahoma City Police Department released information regarding the killing of Jonathan Braggs, 19, of Edmond, on Nov. 15. Master Sgt. Gary Knight said investigators had obtained an arrest warrant on a first-degree murder charge for Davieon Smith.
On Nov. 16, the warrant was issued in Oklahoma County District Court. Bond was denied. On Monday, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mark Myers said Smith had not yet been arrested.
Anyone with information regarding Smith’s whereabouts is asked to call the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Team at 713-6262.
On Nov. 29, Oklahoma County prosecutors filed first-degree murder charges against Johnathan Dominique Daniels, 20, of Oklahoma City, and Kelcee Alexis Hollier, 16, of Oklahoma City. Prosecutors allege the pair acted jointly when they committed the crime of attempted robbery with a firearm, used to shoot and kill the victim, according to court records.
At about 7:13 p.m. on Nov. 15, Oklahoma City officers responded to a shooting call at 3101 N.W. 150th St. in Oklahoma City, according to a probable cause affidavit filed by Oklahoma City Investigator Robbie Benavides in Oklahoma County District Court.
At the scene, officers located two gunshot victims; one was pronounced dead at the scene and the second was transported to the hospital, the affidavit stated.
During the investigation, Benavides interviewed Daniels, who confessed and claimed he and the deceased victim had planned to rob Smith of his drugs, the affidavit stated. Daniels confessed and claimed he and the deceased victim called Smith and had him bring drugs to their location, according to the affidavit.
Benavides stated in the affidavit Daniels allegedly attempted to rob the suspect when he arrived and they were both shot by the person they were robbing. During the investigation, a loaded firearm was found under the deceased victim, according to the affidavit.
Benavides also interviewed Hollier, who said she knew about the alleged plans to rob Smith of his drugs, the affidavit stated. She said she went with Braggs and Daniels to commit the robbery, and she claimed Braggs was armed with a handgun, according to the affidavit.
Hollier said she and Braggs got into the back seat of Smith’s vehicle while Daniels hid behind a car parked nearby, the affidavit stated. During the alleged drug transaction, Smith and an unknown black male began shooting at Braggs and Daniels, who were both wounded, according to the affidavit.
Hollier said when the shooting started she ran away from the vehicle, the affidavit stated.
It appears the incident occurred during an illegal drug transaction, Knight said.
Braggs died at the scene and Daniels was transported to the hospital, Knight said. After he was released, Daniels was booked into the county jail, according to jail records. Both Daniels and Hollier are being held without bond. Initial court appearances have not been posted in the Oklahoma State Courts Network online database.
