EDMOND —
City Councilman Darrell Davis became the third incumbent to file for the City Council this week. Ward 3 Council appointee Davis joined Mayor Charles Lamb and Ward 4 Council appointee Nick Massey in their election bid, according to the Oklahoma County Election Board.
Candidates have until 5 p.m. Wednesday to file for office at the Oklahoma County Election Board.
Primary elections for mayor and City Council are March 5 followed by a general election April 2. Elected candidates take office on the first Monday in May, said Steve Murdock, city attorney. Mayors are elected for two years. Council members serve four-year terms.
Davis, Lamb and Massey will automatically be elected to office if no one challenges them as candidates.
