EDMOND —
The Edmond Planning Commission agreed to the final plat of the RCB Bank addition, located on the northwest corner of West Edmond Road and Kelly Avenue. Commissioners voted 4-0 this week.
The 6,312-square-foot bank will be on a 63,384-square-foot tract of land. It is part of a larger tract that is zoned for neighborhood commercial purposes, said Bob Schiermeyer, city planner.
The full-service RCB Bank provides all forms of lending that includes commercial, real estate, residential and retail lending, Branch President Jim Gray recently said. The new RCB Bank location will have five drive-through teller lanes, an ATM, private offices and safe-deposit boxes.
Two driveways will be at the far north end and the west end to be shared with what develops on the remaining neighborhood commercial property, Schiermeyer said. Detention will be constructed in the northwest corner, he said.
“They provided for the right-of-way that is at Kelly and Edmond Road. They have a 50-foot setback line along both streets,” Schiermeyer said.
There are 27 RCB Banks in Oklahoma, with the Edmond location being one of three sites in the Oklahoma City metroplex.
The traditional style building will have cast-stone accents and will be heavily landscaped. The bank’s landscaping plans exceed the city’s requirements.
A 33-foot-high brick veneer roof will be the building’s tallest point. A brick clock tower measuring 32 feet in height above an ATM will be placed near the corner of the intersection. A sign is limited below the clock at 20 feet.
RCB Bank’s new location is scheduled to open in May, provided that the weather cooperates with construction efforts.
The City Council will consider the item Jan. 9.

The Edmond Sun is serving as a drop-off location for the downtown Edmond area for the American Red Cross. Supplies only may be dropped off at 123 S. Broadway and residents may use the back door to enter the building. Parking is available behind the building at the Festival Market Place. Donations may be taken to Café Evoke, 103 S. Broadway, from 5-10 p.m. -
ME’s office begins identifying Moore, OKC victims
The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office today began releasing names of those who perished in Monday’s 17-mile long EF-5 tornado in Moore and Oklahoma City.
As of this morning the official death toll remains at 24. Of those dead are 10 children. -
