Disc golf event to benefit Edmond Mobile Meals

EDMOND — The Oklahoma City Disc Golf Association will present the 2012 Arcadia Lake Ice Bowl on Saturday, benefiting Edmond Mobile Meals. Interested individuals can sign up to play until 9 a.m. Saturday and participants will tee off at 10 a.m.

Participants should use the 15th Street entrance to Arcadia Lake. The event will make use of the two disc golf courses near the boat ramp by the pavilion.

The event is open to everyone, from those who have never played to those who play every day.

“The important thing about this event is raising money for Edmond Mobile meals,” said Trevor Swink, Frisbee golf pro and assistant principal at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School.

The fee is $25, regardless of the division, and an ace pot, where individuals can win money for making a hole-in-one, is included. Individuals who bring five cans of food are allowed five mulligans.
