The 8th Annual Reclaiming America for Christ Conference will be July 26-27 at the First Baptist Church of Moore.
Pastor Paul Blair, director of Reclaiming America for Christ, said the ministry’s goal is to remind Americans of the nation’s rich Christian heritage and the biblical principles upon which the nation was founded.
“America has been unique from other nations as we were founded upon two principles,” Blair said.
First, there is absolute truth; there is right and wrong — “the laws of nature and nature’s God,” Blair said. Second, our rights as citizens come from God, not from the government, and no one has a right to do wrong.
“This biblical worldview of our founders has been the key to America’s greatness and the forsaking of these truths will lead to our ultimate demise,” Blair said.
This year’s keynote speakers both the evening session on July 26 and the morning session July 27 will be David Barton and Bob McEwen.
Barton, the founder and president of Wallbuilders, is widely recognized for his expertise on America’s Christian heritage. Wallbuilders has accumulated about 100,000 documents that predate 1830, consequently most of Barton’s resources are first source references. Barton is regularly featured on the Glen Beck program.
McEwen, a former six-term Congressman from Ohio, is a gifted speaker known for his presentations on politics and economics.
Blair, pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond, will speak July 26 on Islam 101. James Taylor, pastor of University Christian Church in Norman, will speak July 27 on the subject of the Politics of Black and White in America.
First Baptist Church in Moore is at 301 N.E. 27th St. at the northeast corner of I-35 and Northeast 27th Street in Moore. The evening session July 26 will be from 6:30-10 p.m. The morning session July 27 will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Doors and vendor tables will open 30 minutes before each session. Admission is free. A voluntary love offering will be taken.
