A Guthrie man was transported to a metro hospital due to injuries he suffered in a single-vehicle weekend crash in Kingfisher County, troopers stated.
Just before noon Saturday, a crash occurred when a 2005 Chevy pickup traveling east on State Highway 33 about 6 miles west of Kingfisher exited the roadway and to the north, struck a culvert and came to a rest in the ditch, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.
Troopers stated Donald Gene Shuck, 64, of Guthrie, driver of the pickup, was transported by Kingfisher Emergency Medical Services to Kingfisher Regional Hospital; he was later transported to Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Cause of the crash was a distraction inside the vehicle, the investigating trooper stated.
The pickup was equipped with airbags that did not deploy and the victim was wearing a seat belt, the trooper stated. Information related to whether or not the driver was cited was not included in the report.
