Edmond Public Schools announced proposed school district boundary lines this week for the district’s 16th elementary school, Frontier Elementary.
Frontier is currently under construction on Pennsylvania between Danforth and Covell. It will open in August for its inaugural year.
The Edmond Board of Education will review a recommendation to assign the following area to the school: Bounded by Santa Fe on the east; Danforth on the south; 1/2 mile west of Pennsylvania on the west; and, 1/2 mile north of Covell on the north, according to the school district.
The board will vote on the boundary lines for Frontier at its March 4 meeting.
Edmond Public Schools will offer an informational question-and-answer meeting from 7-8 p.m. Monday in the Board of Education Meeting Room of the Administrative Center, 1001 W. Danforth, to answers questions regarding attendance area assignments for Frontier Elementary.
Included within the area are the following housing additions: Danforth Farms, Fall Brooke, Hawthorne Place, Highland Park, Homestead, Kingsbury Ridge, La Sonata, North Country, Scissortail Landing, Skylers Court, Stonebriar and Thornhill.
Families within these neighborhoods are encouraged to attend the informational meeting Feb. 25 to learn more about the proposed changes and communicate their questions to district administrators and board members.
No action will be taken at this meeting.
