Police investigate body found in north OKC

EDMOND — Police officers are investigating the discovery of a body found in a van parked at a retail store, police said.

Oklahoma City Police Capt. Trevor Taylor said he started receiving calls at about 4:30 p.m. Monday regarding the discovery in the parking lot of the Walmart at 2000 W. Memorial Road.

There was no sign of foul play and the death is being treated as a natural unattended death, Taylor said. It is believed the man was living in living in the van, which had a mattress, he said.

Whether or not the body is picked up by the state medical examiner’s office hinges on contacting next of kin or the person’s doctor, Taylor said.
