EDMOND — A thief siphoned about 200 gallons of gasoline from a truck parked overnight at a business located along Interstate 35, according to an incident report.

At 7:58 a.m. on July 15, Edmond Police Officer Kendall Miller contacted the victim in the 2600 block of the West I-35 Frontage Road, according to a report filed by Miller.

At about 7 p.m. the previous evening, the victim had left his semi truck and trailer in the parking lot business where he was boarding horses, the report stated. When he returned the following morning, the fuel tank was empty.

Miller stated the victim believes someone siphoned the fuel while it was unattended overnight. He estimated about 200 gallons of fuel was taken. Miller stated he saw a large spot of spilled fuel on the ground near the truck.

At the Flying J Travel Plaza, 4081 NE 122nd St., a gallon of diesel fuel as of July 24 was $3.729, according to AAA Oklahoma. At that price, 200 gallons of diesel fuel would be $745.80.
