Boy Scout night set for Monday

EDMOND — The Boy Scouts of America, Last Frontier Council invites Edmond-area boys in first grade and older to attend a School Night for Scouting event at 6 p.m. Monday at each Edmond school district elementary school.

Any boy of elementary school age may join Cub Scouts. The cost to register as a Cub Scout is $15 for a year plus $20 for Boys’ Life magazine. In addition to registration, there is a book for the year, a uniform that lasts two to three years, dues and activity fees. This year, every boy who registers for scouting at the school night will receive the book for free.

In addition to weekly or bi-weekly meetings, depending on the den, there are family campouts scheduled for several weekends in October. For more information, go to www.lastfrontier

council.org and search for “family camping.”

To find a Cub Scout pack near you, go to www.BeAScout.org and search by ZIP code. That same site also lists Boy Scout troops for boys who are either in the sixth grade or at least 11 years old.
