EDMOND — Logan County Board of Health member re-appointed

Associate District Judge Larry Brooks announced the reappointment of Earl Sykes to the Logan County Board of Health. His term begins July 1 and expires June 30, 2014.

“As a member of the Logan County Board of Health, Mr. Sykes will be actively involved in working with the health department to identify the public health problems of our county, and lead community efforts to solve them,” said Jay Smith, administrator of the Logan County Health Department.

The Logan County Board of Health is composed of five members. Other board members are Shirley Ford, Jeff Hirzel, Jan Ruhl and Teresa Williams, M.D.



Lucas to hold town hall meeting

U.S. Rep. Frank Lucas will hold a town hall meeting from 10-11 a.m. April 8 at Guthrie City Hall Council Chambers, 101 N. Second St.

Lucas will put on town hall meetings in Beckham, Custer, Canadian, Logan and Lincoln counties. All residents are invited to attend a meeting and express their opinions. Lucas will discus current events in Washington, taking questions about issues important to constituents of the Third Congressional District, and asking for opinions and input on legislation currently before Congress.
