Special to The Sun

EDMOND — Paul Oman, internationally acclaimed watercolorist and Lutheran minister will offer a watercolor master class on Sept. 28 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Edmond.

The watercolor master class will be Sept. 28 from 1-4 p.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 5400 North Western Avenue, located just north of 150th Street and Western Avenue.

During the class, Oman will lead participants through the process of creating a mural, or large canvas painting, by beginning with a small watercolor. Participants will create their own watercolor and Oman will explain the steps involved in taking the watercolor painting to a large mural.

“As a painter and a pastor, my hope is to bring the Bible story to life, touching lives and inspiring faith, through the creative process of the visual arts,” Oman said.

At 9:30 a.m. Sept. 29 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Oman will paint a 10’X10’ canvas which will become part of the church’s permanent collection. The public is invited to worship and watch the painting emerge through as service of music and readings. Pastor Oman will meet guests during a brief reception following the service.

Pastor Oman has been a finalist in the Fine Art Views International Painting Competition in 2010 and 2013. To see his murals and videos, visit PaulOmanFineArt.com.

The class is open for experienced and young painters. Cost for the class is $75, and will be limited to 20 students. To register, call Lord of Life Lutheran Church at 341-5113. A material list will be sent to participants.
