Police ID man killed during home invasion

EDMOND — Police said they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the weekend shooting death a of 20-year-old man allegedly breaking in to a north Edmond home.

Edmond Police Department spokeswoman Jenny Monroe said at 3:39 a.m. Saturday 911 dispatchers received a call from someone inside the house in the 1000 block of Cobblestone Court, located north of Danforth off Boulevard.

“The home was broken into by one person that we know of at this time,” Monroe said. “That intruder was shot by the homeowner.”

Fire and EMSA said the intruder was dead upon their arrival at the house, she said.

The deceased has been identified as Marlow Dewayne Wilson Jr., 20, of Edmond, Monroe said. He had lived in Edmond for about 30 days in an apartment near the neighborhood, she said.

Detectives processed the scene and the investigation into what happened continues, Monroe said Monday morning.
