Special to The Sun

EDMOND — The Board of Directors of Citizens Bank of Edmond announced that Jill Castilla will succeed C.H. Wyatt as president and CEO. As the bank’s executive vice president, she has previously served Citizens as its chief operating officer, chief credit officer and chief financial officer as well as a member of its board of directors.

“Over the last four years, we’ve benefitted tremendously from C.H.’s steady leadership,” Chairman of the Board Mike Thompson said.

Wyatt came to Citizens Bank of Edmond in 2009.

“My banking career has been challenging and enjoyable, I’m pleased to be leaving Citizens Bank of Edmond on top. The Citizens team has laid a firm foundation, a fact I take great pride in,” Wyatt said.

“Jill represents the legacy of four generations of Citizens leadership and is committed to both the future of the bank and the community. I couldn’t leave the bank in better hands,” Wyatt said. “Our team has developed a culture of service to our customers and community. I expect that to continue and grow under Jill’s leadership.”

Castilla, the bank’s new president and CEO, began her career with Citizens in 1998. Her progression then took her to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City where she managed multiple departments then serving on the senior management team at Grand Rapids State Bank in Grand Rapids, Minn. Prior to Castilla’s initial employment at Citizens, she served in the U.S. Army and Oklahoma National Guard.

“Jill represents the future of Citizens Bank and was the natural choice as the bank’s next leader,” Thompson said. “Citizens Bank of Edmond is thriving and we look forward to the future with Jill’s capable leadership at the helm.”

Thompson said that Castilla already has positioned the bank at the forefront of technology and accessibility. In the past year, Castilla received the Woman of the Year award by the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce and was named by Independent Community Bankers Association as a top bank social media influencer. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Graduate School of Banking and possesses a Master’s in Economics degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Castilla is a Distinguished Alumna from Hawaii Pacific University where she earned a BSBA in finance. She serves on the boards of directors for Oklahoma Bankers Association and Community Bankers Association of Oklahoma as well as a trustee for the UCO Foundation and the Edmond Public Schools Foundation.

“C.H. has been an outstanding mentor and I greatly appreciate how unselfishly he has shared his knowledge and expertise,” Castilla said. “I am humbled to be able to build on my family’s four-generation Citizens legacy and plan to spend the rest of my career serving this bank.”

Citizens Bank of Edmond continues to operate on the same downtown Edmond intersection where it was founded in April 1901. The independent $250 million community bank’s unique ownership structure is comprised of fourth generation family ownership, an Employee Stock Ownership Program and community stockholders.

As an innovative leader in community banking, Citizens Bank of Edmond provides commercial and consumer financial services, mortgage origination, cash management and mobile banking solutions as well as accessibility through non-traditional avenues.

Citizens Bank of Edmond has been consistently recognized for outstanding achievements in banking, customer service, community service and social media by local and national organizations.
