Edmond Newcomers Club plans January meeting

EDMOND — Jumping right into the new year will be the Edmond Newcomers Club, with a General Meeting on Jan. 2 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 308 N.W. 164th (three blocks west of Crest Foods at 15th and Santa Fe).

The meeting gets under way at 9:15 a.m. with coffee and a social.

The program starts at 9:45 a.m. and business at 10:15 a.m.

A lunch outing is optional, which lets interested people have an opportunity to meet new friends and pursue interests.

The speaker this month will be Mitch Rainwater with the Edmond Fire Department. Covering several different topics, including fire prevention and the Citizens Fire Academy.

If you are new to Edmond, retired or have lived in Edmond for a long time, come visit the club.

Just a desire to meet new friends and enjoy some of the special interest groups is all that is needed.

Interest groups meet once a month on a regular day and time.

Book Club, Bridge, Bunco, Canasta, Scrapbooking, Lunch and a Movie, Lunch in the homes and Rummikub are a few of the fun things to join.
