Guthrie is one of three cities in the U.S. to host Mumford & Sons this year in an event called The 2013 Gentlemen of the Road Festival.
The British folk group event will take place Sept. 6-7 at a folk festival at Cottonwood Flats in Guthrie.
Mumford & Sons have won three Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Award for Favorite Alternative Rock Artist, and were nominated for six Grammy awards.
Tickets are $109 and can be purchased at gentlemenoftheroad.com beginning at 11 a.m. Friday. Camping passes are available for $40.
City Manager Sereniah Breland said news of the concert is bound to enhance Guthrie’s reputation as a destination point.
Other groups to perform at the festival will be Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Willy Mason, Alabama Shakes, The Vaccines, Bear’s Den, Half Moon Run and Those Darlins.
