Police cite pair as ‘social host’

EDMOND — A second arrest in one week for violating the city’s social host ordinance sent two men to jail.

Edmond Police responded to a loud disturbance complaint just after midnight Wednesday to the 300 block of Belmont Drive.

As officers arrived several people standing outside quickly ran into the house.

Police interviewed 22-year-old Ryan Evan Rogers and 21-year-old Carson Breck Long, who live at the residence. According to a police report, both told police they were not sure if some of the guests were underage.

Police checked the IDs of the 22 guests and found that 13 were underage. Police said they noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the guests and several empty beer cans in the home and on the lawn.

Long and Rogers were arrested on a complaint of allowing a gathering where minors were allowed to consume alcohol.

Another man, 23-year-old Derek Gene Phillips, was arrested on a complaint of lewd conduct. A police report states an officer observed him urinating next to the house.
