Lazy E plans annual fundraiser

EDMOND — The Equine Therapy Center a nonprofit 501(c)3 foundation serving at-risk youth of Central Oklahoma will have its fourth annual banquet and fundraiser from 7-10 p.m. Friday at the Lazy E Arena.

Along with great food and a silent auction, a live auction will be held. The highlight of the evening will be a demonstration by a few of the volunteers and youth currently involved at ETC. Using retired AQHA show horses, the group will demonstrate the “Trail of Temptation” to event attendees.

The Equine Therapy Center’s mission is to use the equine experience as a tool for emotional growth and learning. The program is not limited to only the art of riding, but also utilizes the task of caring for the horse and the bonds that form through this caring as a means to establish trust, respect and responsibility. The goal of the program is to motivate, diminish anxieties, develop trust, learn self-evaluation, increase self-esteem and develop or enhance socialization skills.

All proceeds and donations will benefit ETC. Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased at the door. For more information, call 590-5481 or visit the Web site: www.equine-therapy-center.org.
