EDMOND — An Edmond mom who allegedly allowed her son and his friends to throw a party at her home recently was arrested on a complaint of violating the city’s social host ordinance.
Edmond Police officers were called out to the 3200 block of Beverly Drive about 11 p.m. Saturday on a loud noise complaint.
According to Officer Page Hussey’s report, when she arrived she could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the garage.
Hussey said she made contact with the homeowner, 37-year-old Jeannie Lynn Linton, and told her about the complaint. According to the police report, Linton said her son was having a few friends over and gave officers permission to enter the house to talk with him.
Hussey reports the garage was full of smoke and there were beer and alcohol bottles scattered around. Hussey also reports there were various drug paraphernalia items including bongs, glass pipes, scales and wrapping papers present.
According to the police report, there were about 14 people in the garage ranging in ages from 14 to 17.
Linton then was placed under arrest on a complaint of violating the social host ordinance by allowing minors to drink in her home.
A pat search of one of the teens produced a clear baggie containing a green leafy substance later identified as marijuana. He was arrested on a complaint of possession of marijuana.
Another teen was found with a clear baggie of a green leafy substance and a digital scale in his back pocket. He was arrested on a complaint of possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three were taken to the Edmond City Jail where the juveniles were released to their parents.
Contacted this morning by The Sun, Linton declined to comment.
