Youth to raise funds for lung research through drink stand
EDMOND — Lung research will benefit from the efforts of 7-year-old Christopher Kitchell, who lives with asthma.
Kitchell has set a goal to raise $200 this year for the Escape from Asthma team, which Kitchell is the captain. The stand will be open from 3-5 p.m. this week at Kitchell’s church, Cherokee Hills Baptist Church, 5700 N.W. 63rd.
The proceeds of Kitchell’s drink stand will go to the Clean Air Challenge, a fundraiser planned by the American Lung Association, which will be held May 10 at the Oklahoma City Zoo.
The Clean Air Challenge, formerly the Asthma Walk, will consist of a 5K Run, a 1-mile walk and a Kid’s Dash. To register online, visit www.oklung.org or call Jennifer Williams at 748-4674.
