EDMOND — Parkinson’s disease benefit planned
Oklahoma Fight Night, a charity event benefiting the Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland, will take place Thursday at the Bricktown Hotel & Convention Center.
The evening will begin with a black-tie, VIP reception, and will feature seven professional fights, including a North American Boxing Council Championship match where James Johnson will defend his belt against Tony Kennedy.
Fifteen thousand Oklahomans live with Parkinson’s disease. The Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland serves families in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri through medication assistance, speech pathology, exercise classes and support groups.

10th annual conference to replenish family caregivers
Oklahoma family caregivers will gather for the 10th annual Mercy Caregiver Survival Skills Conference Friday at Mercy Health Center to receive innovative ideas and timely inspiration.
Inspirational writer and speaker Bruce McIntyre will keynote the event with his presentation “Resilient Caregivers.” He is the author of “Resilient Life.” Also, Dr. S.A. Dean Drooby will present “Caring for the Caregiver’s Heart.” Dr. Dona Zanotti will discuss “Staying Healthy: Your Mental Health is Essential to Your Overall Health.”
