Ex-lawmaker wins college savings promotion
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Don Anderson, a former state lawmaker, and three family members are going to Saturday's Oklahoma State-Texas A&M; football game, thanks to winning a sweepstakes sponsored by the Oklahoma College Savings Plan.
Anderson entered the sweepstakes two weeks ago after he opened up a college savings account for his newborn granddaughter.
As the winner, he and three family members will receive four club-level tickets to the game, sideline passes, a tour of OSU's facilities, a replica football jersey and a football autographed by Cowboy coach Mike Gundy.
Anderson, former House member from Osage County, accepted the tickets and other prizes at a news conference Thursday, accompanied by his son, daughter-in-law and new granddaughter, Sophie.
State Treasurer Scott Meacham said the promotion is a great way to introduce parents and grandparents to the savings program.

The man gathered the money in a blue bank bag and was last seen traveling east toward Penn Square Mall on the bike.
The man is described as black, in his mid- to early-30s, between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-1. He had a shaved head, thin mustache and goatee and a red University of Southern California ball cap.
