Experience the cultural richness of Aboriginal Australia through the stories and music of Yidumduma Bill Harney, elder and senior custodian of the Wardaman people, and Paul Taylor, Australian storyteller, musician and theater artist, at 7 p.m. at the Edmond Library.

Children Reading to Dogs will be from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Edmond Library. Read to a specially trained dog who loves to hear a good book! Sessions last 15-20 minutes.

Music with Susan will be from 9:30-10 a.m. and 10:15-10:45 a.m. for 2- to 3-year-olds and 11-11:30 a.m. for 4- to 5-year-olds at the Edmond Library. Classes are held on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. Registration for the second Friday always begins on the first day of the month. The First Presbyterian Church of Edmond (FPCE) will have a MOPS Craft Fair and Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11.

The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History and the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, both world-class museums on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus, offer a $1 discount on admission to anyone showing an OU football ticket. The Edmond Library, 10 S. Boulevard, proudly presents the Buckboard Quilts' God Bless America Quilt Exhibit Oct. 11 from 2-3 p.m. These 22x22" and larger patriotic quilts capture the essence of "America the Beautiful" by paying tribute to our American Heroes and Troops, depicting "Liberty and Justice for All" and expressing flag-waving loyalty to our "One Nation Under God."

The Reader’s Choice Book Discussion for seniors will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Edmond Library. This month’s selection is “Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed” by Jaren Diamond. Enjoy the Quilt Trunk Show with Judy Howard from 2-3 p.m. at the Edmond Library. Enjoy a variety of quilts and quilting techniques presented by Judy Howard, owner of Buckboard Antiques. This will be followed by light refreshments.

Oklahoma City Writers Inc. meets at 10 a.m. the third Saturday of each month September through May at the Meinders School of Business, 26th Street and N. McKinley in Oklahoma City. Guests are welcome and there is no fee.

The Oklahoma Railway Museum, Ltd. offers 35-minute excursion trains on the first and third Saturdays of each month for the general public from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Train rides are free for children under the age of 3, $5 for children 4 years to 15 years, and $8 for those 15 years and older. In addition to the train ride, various railroad equipment, including motor cars, locomotives and passenger cars, are on display. A display car contains permanent exhibits of railroad memorabilia. The museum itself is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there is no admission charge to tour the grounds. ORM is located at 3400 N.E. The Traditional Cowboy Arts Association 10th Annual Exhibition, Sale and Seminar will be at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
